Job Summary

The Consumer Loan Servicer plays a key role in supporting the lending team by working closely with Loan Officers and ensuring full compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role requires a motivated, positive, and results-driven individual with a strong sales orientation. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the loan process from application to closing, ensuring maximum funding efficiency. A deep knowledge of the credit union's products and services is essential, as is the ability to communicate professionally with members and staff at all levels. Proficiency in relevant technology platforms is also required. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Has a thorough knowledge of credit union loan policy and procedures. Successfully and completely processes consumer loans.  Understands services loan portfolio. Processes lien releases for paid in full loans. Prepares skip-a-pay. Files Gap (Guaranteed Asset Protection) and MBI (Mechanical Breakdown Insurance) claims. Provides payoffs.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for providing timely and accurate information, responses and decisions to internal members. Accurately and efficiently performs transactions and internal member requests. Willingly accepts and embraces constructive coaching and feedback as needed. Assesses own strengths and weaknesses. Schedules time off in advance and avoids unscheduled absences. Demonstrates the ability to excel in a high stress environment and is able to meet goals and deadlines. Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles to maintain above average closing ratios.
     
  • Collections Assistance: Process CPI Claims, Credit Life and Disability claims, and e-OSCAR credit disputes.
  •  A motivated self-starter who measures self against standards of excellence. Persuasive and confident. Uses clear and simple language to communicate information and decisions to internal and external members.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Experience - Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.

Education/Certifications/Licenses- High school degree or GED required.

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
